Road Safety Group Suggest the Use of Disposable Headgears for Motorcycle Passengers
ROAD SAFETY GROUP- A safety advocacy group has suggested the use of disposable headgears when riding to ensure safety amid pandemic.
The Lawyers for Commuters Safety and Protection said those motorcycle passengers should wear disposable headgears to ensure safety of drivers and commuters if the app-based motorcycles for hire will return to the street.
According to the report of Inquirer, aside from motorcycle helmet, passengers should also use disposable headgears that will be worn inside. In addition, they also recommend passengers to bring their own helmet.
The group, headed by the former board member of the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) Ariel Inton, said app-based companies may also provide personal helmets that passengers can avail for an additional fee during a ride.

As the NCR was placed under lockdown since March, ride-hailing services such as Angkas and Joyride have been prohibited to operate due to the physical distancing guidelines given by the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) for COVID-19.
Meanwhile, the Joint Task Force (JTF) COVID Shield and the motorcycle ride-hailing firm Angkas team up to provide free transportation to COVID-19 frontliners in areas under MECQ.
The ride-hailing app also released a backup design of an air barrier that can be mounted to the motorcycle. This was, again, approved by the National Task Force for COVID-19 (NTF COVID-19).
