Photos of Strange Cloud Formation Spotted in Balasan, Iloilo Goes Viral
BALASAN, ILOILO – A strange cloud formation has been spotted by the residents of a mountainous area in Iloilo.
Over the past few days, the Philippines is experiencing numerous calamities such as earthquakes, irregularities of volcanoes, and other incidents. Strange happenings such as the appearance of deep-sea creatures.
A Facebook user named Dhoy Alarcon Villa has shared the photos of a strange formation of clouds in Balasan, Iloilo. The controversial photos garnered various reactions from the online community.

In the photos, it can be seen that the clouds form like snow covering the top of the mountain. Some of the netizens were able to capture the rare phenomena and posted it on social media. The strange cloud formation is called orographic clouds.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) explained that the fog or orographic clouds appear during a spontaneous downpour of rain. The fog even reaches the ground.

The orographic clouds are formed when water droplets gathered due to a lack of sunlight.
