Kapamilya host Boy Abunda grieving over massive job loss due to denied franchise renewal of ABS-CBN.
BOY ABUNDA – ABS-CBN “King of Talk” Boy Abunda finally breaks silence and expressed grief over the denied franchise renewal of his network.
“People are crying, people are lost. This pain is real. I’m not talking about data. I’m not talking about statistics. I am talking about real people who are suffering, who are in pain, who don’t know what to do.” – This is a statement from ABS-CBN “King of Talk” Boy Abunda as he finally spoke about the rejected franchise renewal application his network.
The rejection of the renewal has broken lots of hearts and what made more hearts get broken is the decision of the network to gradually lay off their employees. This all happened amid a health crisis and thousands of people have lost a stable job.
In a report from ABS-CBN, he chose to grieve in private as lost his sight seeing his venue to air his opinion. He is the host of “Tonight with Boy Abunda” on ABS-CBN before the shut down of the network happened. He was emotional over the fate of thousands of people who the network have let go.
He then noted the fate of one employee, Mavic Oducayen, the ABS-CBN production manager, who died of heart attack because she’s a part of the retrenchment. The male host said, “Pag pinag-uusapan ang pagsasara ng ABS-CBN, this is something that is real. This is a pain that I feel. Not just my pain, but the pain of people who I’ve worked with for years, for decades. Iyon ang buhay ng nagluluksa.”
