A 55-year-old ABS-CBN network production manager dies and here’s the cause of death.
ABS-CBN NETWORK – Mavic Oducayen, a 55-year-old production manager from ABS-CBN drama unit died days after company’s retrenchment.
70 lawmakers have expressed objection to serve ABS-CBN network a franchise renewal despite 13-day hearings where the media company proved innocence and no illegalities in their operations coming the ownership to alleged tax issues. Many hearts got broken. To recall, it was last May 2020 when the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) released the cease and desist order.
Now that the network has fully stopped their broadcasting operation which affected their over 11,000 employees, their production manager for ABS-CBN’s drama unit has died days after the retrenchment, Mavic Oducayen, the late employee, was one of the retrenched staff.
She died on July 22 at the age of 55 due to heart attack. She was confined at the hospital after the attack but eventually, died. She is a part of the RSB Scripted Format, an entertainment division of the network spearheaded by Ruel Bayani. She is one of the brains behind the following series: Halik (starring Jericho Rosales and Yen Santos), Araw Gabi ( starring JM de Guzman and Barbie Imperial), and Pamilya Ko (featuring JM De Guzman, Sylvia Sanchez, and Arci Muñoz).
“We lost a beautiful soul today. You will be missed, our Kapamilya, Mavic. May you rest in peace in paradise,” RSB shared in a Facebook post. Aside from retrenchment, the network also decided to cancel some of the contracts of their artists. Reportedly, 90 percent of the company’s workforce will lose their jobs.
