PAGASA – Southwest Monsoon To Bring Cloudy Skies, Scattered Rains Over Parts Of PH This August 11, 2020

PAGASA – Here are the following latest updates from the state weather bureau PAGASA, on this day, August 11, 2020 (Tuesday).

The latest weather update from the state weather bureau says that the southwest monsoon or habagat will be affecting Luzon on this day.

According to GMA News, the southwest monsoon will bring occasional rains over Ilocos Region, Batanes, Babuyan Group of islands, Zambales and Bataan.

The bureau warned that flash floods or landslides may occur due to moderate with at occasionally heavy rains.

Habagat will also bring cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorm over Metro Manila, Cordillera Administrative Region, Rest of Cagayan Valley, the rest of Central Luzon, and CALABARZON.

Again, the bureau warned that flash floods or landslides may occur due to moderate with at occasionally heavy rains.

Meanwhile, the rest of Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers due to localized thunderstorms. Flash floods or landslides may occur, especially during severe thunderstorms.

Based on the report, the bureau is still observing Severe Tropical Storm Mekkhala (locally called Ferdie), which was last spotted at 480 kilometers northwest of Basco town, Batanes.

It is packed with maximum sustained winds of 95 kilometers per hour and gusts of up to 115 kilometers per hour. It is set to move northward at 25 kilometers per hour.

Meanwhile, a tropical depression was last spotted at about 2,205 kilometers east northeast of extreme northern Luzon. It is packed with maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour and gusts with up to 70 kilometers per hour. It is set to move westward at 25 kilometers per hour.

For the wind speed forecast, northern Luzon will have strong winds that are moving in the southwest to south direction while facing rough to very rough coastal waters.

The rest of the country will have moderate to strong winds that are moving in the southeast to south direction while facing rough to very rough coastal waters.
