These Kapuso stars react to Jennylyn Mercado issue following unsolicited advice from Arnell Ignacio.
JENNYLYN MERCADO – Kapuso actress Jennylyn Mercado defended by fellow Kapuso stars following “unsolicited advise” from Arnell Ignacio.
“ Do not ever think the power of popularity will instantly translate into mastery of the political jungle. Wawasakin ninyo mga careers ninyo.” – This is a statement from Arnell Ignacio who criticized Jennylyn Mercado and other artists who are critical over the current administration.
In a speculated hit back, the actress has expressed in her intriguing posts questions if there’s a need for qualification for one to speak up about the issues of the country and the society. She even furthered the when someone stops another to speak his mind, that’s where giving respect failed.
Now, her fellow Kapuso stars Lyn Ching and Mikoy Morales have reacted to this and defended her. Ching, on her part, objected the thought of limiting Mercado to speak her mind because above from being an actress, she is a Filipino. Ching furthered, “Therefore may karapatang syang maglabas ng saloobin. Huwag ikahon ang isang tao base sa kanyang propesyon.”
And as for Mikoy, people like Arnell is one of the reasons why many celebrities choose to stay silent instead of speaking up. He said, “Break the [stigma]. Pilipino muna tayong lahat before anything else.”
Ignacio is a supporter of Duterte and his loyalty has led him to file a case against former singer Mystica after she cursed the president on social media. And Jennylyn, jus recently, became more active and vocal acting as the voice of many people.
