Here’s what Arnell Ignacio said about Jennylyn Mercado’s social media tirade
Actor Arnell Ignacio, who has been appointed to government positions, fired back to Kapuso actress Jennylyn Mercado for her tirade against the current administration.
Jennylyn has been vocal on social media these past few months when she started to voice out her side about the ABS-CBN franchise issue even though she’s from the Kapuso network. Following that, she has been criticizing various departments of the government amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Just recently, she even poked fun of Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque who was spotted sleeping during the State of the Nation Address of President Rodrigo Duterte.
In line with the Kapuso star’s social media tirades against the government, Arnell Ignacio has this unsolicited advice. He also addressed this matter to all the artists ranting online against that administration.
In a recent Facebook post, Arnell said that showbiz personalities who are really sincere in involving themselves in the matters of politics, government issues or social issues, should research in order for them not took “ignorant” online.
He particularly mentioned that post of Jennylyn that questioned the breakdown of the budget that was borrowed the Philippines. “‘Nasaan napunta ang pera’, kita mo tuloy masasabihan ka ‘check-in mo nasa website ‘yan, ‘di ba? Mapapahiya ka pa,” he said.
He added that the Kapuso actress subjected herself to that kind of embarrassment because she did not do her research. Based on the article from PEP, Arnell also has this statement about Jennylyn’s social media posts.
“Payo lang, wag niyo na pasukin ang hindi ninyo linya. You have very successful careers dahil mahusay kayo sa linyang pag-aartista. Do not ever think the power of popularity will instantly translate into mastery of the political jungle. Wawasakin ninyo mga careers ninyo.”
In his Facebook video, Arnell Ignacio also mentioned Aiko Melendez as an example of a showbiz personality who has the right to speak about the issues now in the government. Aiko was previously elected as a government official.
