Recently, President Rodrigo Roa Duterte reacted to the call of the healthcare workers. He also gave a message for them.
Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, in a late-night briefing, the President expressed his understanding to the healthcare workers exhaustion as they are fighting the pandemic for several months now. He appealed to them to lengthen their patience while the government is doing its best.
Pres. Duterte also stressed that healthcare workers were trained and educated regarding such challenges. According to the report, the Chief Executive emphasized that they are the ones knowledgeable in the field.
However, the President also stressed that there is no need for healthcare workers to tell the government publicly what to do. According to him, they are complaining instead of being the ones to help.
“We are not competent here because we are not doctors. Kayo ang dapat ang mag-ano… Kayong makatulong sana at wala kayong ginagawa kung magreklamo, what can I do?” he said.
The President said that the healthcare workers are “criticizing” and demeaning the government. He assured that the government will try to help including those healthcare workers who are not connected to the state.
