EXAMPLES OF PHILIPPINE RIVERS – In this topic, we are going to know and identify the following rivers in the Philippines.

A river is a fresh body of water which flows towards an ocean, sea, lake or another river. There are cases where a river flows into the ground and becomes dry at the end of its course without reaching another body of water

There are about 412 principal river basins in the Philippines. Among them are the following:

Cagayan River

Also known as Rio Grande de Cagayan, it is the country’s largest river. It is located in Cagayan Valley. The river traverses the provinces of Nueva Vizcaya, Quirino, Isabela and Cagayan.

Rio Grande de Mindanao

Also known as Mindanao River, it is the second-largest river in the nation. It is found in the southern island of Mindanao.

Agusan River

This river is located in the north-eastern part of Mindanao island, It is the third largest river, with a drainage area of 11,937 square kilometres or 4,609 square miles.

A river in Luzon, it originates in Aritao town, Nueva Vizcaya. IKt is the largest tributary of the Cagayan River.
