Sultan Kudarat Hit by Earthquake with 4.0 Magnitude
EARTHQUAKE – The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) recorded a 4.0 magnitude quake in Sultan Kudarat, July 13, 2020.
Most of the time, quakes hit with no prior signs. Recently, several places in and out of the Philippines were shaken by quakes of different magnitudes.
Previously, in April 22, Phivolcs recorded a quake in a part of Zambales. It had a magnitude of 6.1. Strong shaking were felt leaving people fearing about the so-called “Big One“. But the agency advises the people to wait for factual information and not to panic.
Recently, a quake has hit a part of Sultan Kudarat. At 02:15 pm, July 13, 2020, Kalamansig was hit by an earthquake with a magnitude of 4.0.
According to Phivolcs, the quake that hit a part of Sultan Kudarat was located at 06.29°North, 123.78°East – 044 km South 44° West of Kalamansig. The quake was tectonic in origin and had a depth of 033 kilometers.
Phivolcs stated in a bulletin that there are no expected damages caused by the quake. Also, aftershocks are not expected of the said quake. No intensity was recorded of the said quake.
