MRT Management Confirms 92 MRT-3 Personnel Confirmed Positive for COVID-19

MRT-3 PERSONNEL – Ninety-two (92) workers of the Manila Metro Rail Transit System (MRT) Station 3 tested positive for COVID-19.

A lot of things were greatly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. These include the transportation now most especially the public commute which is now at a reduced capacity.

In terms of jeepneys, the vehicles now are on a reduced capacity and all passengers must wear a face mask. Also, plastic covers were installed inside the vehicles for social distancing and protection of passengers from other passengers.

The trains in Metro Manila are also affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. The capacity is also reduced thus passengers must allot more time before they can get a ride.

The COVID-19 pandemic is not yet over. Coronavirus testing are conducted most especially in sectors providing services to the public to prevent the spread of the disease.

Following the order of the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID), the MRT-3 conducted swab testing on all its workers. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, 92 MRT-3 personnel tested positive for COVID-19.

Out of the 92 MRT-3 personnel who are positive for COVID-19, 25 of them were identified last week while 67 more were confirmed positive for the disease last Tuesday. Based on the report, the Department of Transportation (DOTr) assured that all the patients are under quarantine now.

Also, the management of MRT-3 assures the public that the infected workers had no direct contact with the workers in the station and as well as the passengers. Following 92 of their staff being under quarantine now, fewer trains may take route starting July 6.
