Update on Bacolod City COVID-19 Cases Now

BACOLOD CITY – The city confirmed ten (10) new cases of coronavirus amid the global pandemic affecting over 200 countries and territories.

The COVID-19 pandemic placed a huge challenge to most countries across the globe. It has already claimed over 400,000 lives in the different nations and territories.

The Philippines is one of the countries with confirmed cases of coronavirus. According to the Department of Health (DOH), there is now a total of 35,455 coronavirus cases; 1,244 deaths; and 9,686 recoveries.

The whole country is under a community quarantine now. Cebu City is under an Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) while Metro Manila and several other areas are implementing a General Community Quarantine (GCQ).

Bacolod City

The low risk areas are under a Modified GCQ now. One of the cities implementing an MGCQ is Bacolod City.

Recently, ten (10) new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed in Bacolod City. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, nine (9) of the new coronavirus patients are locally stranded individuals (LSIs) who are now back in the city while one (1) of them is a repatriated Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW).

According to the report, the most recent cases of COVID-19 is a 23-year-old young lady from Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental. The total coronavirus cases in the province now has reached 78.

All new cases of COVID-19 are in quarantined in quarantine facilities. For two (2) weeks, all the trips going Region VI including Negros Occidental and Bacolod are suspended following the request of Governor Eugenio “Bong” Lacson to the National Inter-Agency Task Force.

The Governor is grateful as the time can be used for the province to prepare new quarantine facilities. All stranded passengers who will be coming home must be quarantined upon arrival.
