HPG Apprehended Cops and Government Officials Who Take the Bus Lane
The Highway Patrol Group (HPG) apprehended and scolded the cops and allegedly government officials after passing at the bus lane in EDSA.
In an operation conducted by the HPG, police and other motorists pass through the freeway “bus lane” in EDSA, has no exemption on apprehension with the head of the Highway Patrol Group itself.
Based on the report of GMA News, some police caught explained that they thought they could pass through the bus lane because they were “frontliners”. However, the lane is only exclusive for buses, which aims to prevent the heavy traffic in EDSA.

There are also motorists who have identified government staff, and some have come up with a rush to avoid being caught on the job. But Police Colonel Wilson Doromal, HPG chief, said only buses and emergency vehicles could pass through the bus lane.
Meanwhile, concrete barriers were placed as the new bus lane scheme was introduced in EDSA following the declaration of a general community quarantine in Metro Manila. However, the MMDA reports that an accident happens everyday involving the newly installed concrete barriers for bus lanes on the left side of EDSA.
