AWOL Policeman, Two Others Killed In Encounter In Tiaong, Quezon

AWOL POLICEMAN – Three Individuals, among them is an AWOL police officer, were killed in a police operation in the town of Tiaong, Quezon.

According to ABS-CBN News, Tiaong Municipal Police Station’s Lieutenant Colonel Rannie Lumactod reported that operatives from the PNP Anti-Kidnapping Group and PNP Rapid Deployment Batallion presented a search warrant for violation of Comprehensive Firearms Law and illegal drugs against former cop Patrolman Rico Muog Gutierrez.

However, Gutierrez opened fire, prompting the operatives to fire back.

The incident has left with Gutierrez dead, as well as one man under the alias Alcaria, and one unidentified suspect.

Based on the report, Gutierrez was a former intel operative from the Quezon City Police District. He, however, went AWOL (absence without official leave) when he was transferred to Bangsamoro Autonomous Region (BARMM).
