However, despite all of the criticisms against him, VP Robredo said that it would be hard to replace the health secretary at this time. According to a report from ABS-CBN, Robredo said:

Mahirap iyong kalaban natin. All hands on deck dapat. Parang mahirap magpalit ng heneral habang nasa gitna ng laban

Recently, the Office of the Ombudsman said it would investigate Duque for alleged overpricing of COVID-19 testing kits. Moreover, he allegedly delayed deployment of medical gears for frontliners, delayed cash beneficiaries, and gave confusing coronavirus reports.

As per the report, Robredo added:

Naintindihan ko rin iyong pinanggalingan niya (Martires) na sa panahon ngayon trust is a currency, na ‘pag ang tao hindi tumitiwala sa namumuno, mahirap hingiin ang kaniyang cooperation… That’s why he is saying this investigation is very important because people need to trust DOH,

Finally, the Vice President urged Duque to be open to criticisms about him and encourage the private sector to join the battle against the deadly new disease. However, Robredo emphasized that if he “does not want to listen, then it would be time for him to leave”.
