PAGASA – Heat Index At 46°C in Aparri, Sangley Point On June 8

PAGASA – Weather bureau PAGASA’s synoptic stations at Aparri town, Cagayan and Sangley Point, Cavite City recorded the hottest heat index in the country.

The state weather bureau said that both Aparri and Sangley point are at 46 degrees Celsius.

According to GMA News, the bureau added that these was followed by Dagupan City with 45 degrees Celsius. This was followed with areas experiencing 44 degrees Celsius which includes:

  • Ambulong in Tanauan City
  • Iba in Zambales
  • Laoag City
  • Legazpi City

The bureau warned that a heat index which ranges from 41 degrees Celsius to 54 degrees Celsius may cause heat cramps and exhaustion. It is also possible to experience heat stroke amid continuous physical activity.

Based on the report, the bureau station at the Science Garden in Quezon City recorded a heat index at 40 degrees Celsius at around 3:10 PM. At the same time, the station recorded a maximum temperature of 34.2 degrees Celsius.
