PAGASA – Here are the latest updates from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) this June 9, 2020.

The latest weather update from the state bureau says that a low pressure area or LPA was last spotted at around 465 kilometers east of Guiuan town, Eastern Samar and is currently embedded along the ITCZ or Intertropical Convergence Zone, which is currently affecting Palawan, Visayas and Mindanao.

According to GMA News, the ITCZ will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with scattered rain showers or thunderstorms over Palawan, Visayas and Mindanao.

The bureau warned of flash floods or landslides that may occur, especially during severe thunderstorms.

The eaterlies or warm winds from the east will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Metro Manila.

Based on the report, for the wind speed forecast, Mindanao will have light to moderate winds that are moving in the southwest to various direction.

Visayas will also have light to moderate winds but are moving in the northeast to various direction.

Northern Luzon will have light to moderate winds that are moving in the southeast to south direction.

Palawan will have light winds, that might change during thunderstorms, moving in the southwest to southeast direction.

The rest of Luzon will have light to moderate winds that are moving in the northeast to southeast direction.

The entire country will face slight to moderate coastal waters.
