Gab Valenciano Open Up About His Mental Health

GAB VALENCIANO – Performer Gab Valenciano opened up about his struggle with depression and reach out to people who are in the same situation.

Jose Angelo Gabriel Valenciano or better known as Gab Valenciano is the son of Mr. Pure Energy Gary Valenciano and Angeli Pangilinan. He is a choreographer, actor, and commercial model.

Aside from dancing, he also found his passion for work behind the camera. Last January, Kapuso host Willie Revillame announced that Gab is the new director of his variety show Wowowin.

On Tuesday, June 9, Gab Valenciano took to his Instagram account to give a message of support for the people who are battling with depression amid the COVID-19 pandemic. He penned a lengthy message to remind them that they are not alone.

The 31-year-old performer discussed what depression is. He said “some people may never understand what depression feels or looks like. It can easily be mistaken as severe sadness. When in reality, it really isn’t. It’s far from it. It can simply be described in one phrase; a dead end.”

Gab Valenciano admitted that he still isolates himself. He said he only surrounds himself with the right people and makes sure that he’ll “choose to be better next time around.” In his ending statement, he encouraged his followers who are dealing with mental issues to “listen in silence and be present.”

Gab Valenciano’s father Gary Valenciano reposted it on his IG account. In the caption, he asked his followers to respect his son’s post and told Gab to “run to mom or dad…we will be here for you. Run to your brother or your sister as they always like hearing from you too.”
