The iconic ABS-CBN logo has appeared again and it sparked discussion.
ABS-CBN LOGO – From pitch black, the ABS-CBN channel is now showing their famous logo with the tagline, does this means something?
May 5, a day after the 25-year legislative franchise of ABS-CBN got expired, a cease and desist order from the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) has been taken out to which the network immediately complied. This has ultimately closed down the biggest media network in the country with 11,000 employees.
Kapamilya Network supporters and loyal viewers were saddened to see an empty channel in their television. But yesterday, from a depressing pitch black, the screen has shown the logo of the network with its tagline that says “In The Service Of The Filipino”.
This has sparked a little joy to people who are waiting for the ABS-CBN to air again. The mentioned CDO is contrary to what House Deputy Speaker Rodante Marcoleta has said during the last hearing regarding the franchise renewal. He indicated that the network voluntarily shut down which was lambasted online.
Meanwhile, during the June 3 congressional hearing, Kapamilya network’s chairman emeritus Gabby Lopez joined after his citizenship was being questioned. But the Department of Justice (DOJ), settling down the debate and argument about this, confirmed that Lopez is Filipino being born to Filipino parents,
President and CEO Carlo Katigbak, on the other hand, fears that if the network won’t be back on air by August, it will endanger some of their employees as they are considering laying them off. This is because of their huge daily bleeding in advertising revenues where a longer time of being off air means bigger losses.
