Michael Cinco Designes PPE for Dubai Frontliner
MICHAEL CINCO – World-renowned fashion designer Michael Cinco unveiled the personal protective equipment (PPE) he designed for the frontliners in Dubai.
Fashion designers around the world are doing their part to help overcome the shortage of personal protective equipment (PPE). Our nurses, doctors, and health care workers need these protective gear to keep saving lives in the battle against the 2019 novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
Among the Filipino designers who provided PPE for the frontliners in the country are Mich Dulce, and Michael Leyva. Dulce answered Vice President Leni Robredo’s call to help create more protective gear for the frontliners. Leyva on the other hand teamed up with Angel Locsin to distribute PPE for the healthcare workers.
Michael Cinco is the latest Filipino fashion designer who stepped up to fight the deadly virus from Wuhan City, China. In his Instagram account, he unveiled the lab gowns he created for the COVID-19 frontliners in United Arab Emirates (UAE).
“This is not really an actual dress… It is just a plain protection lab gown creatively draped and styled on mannequin to make it look like a high fashion dress for our amazing medical frontliners fighting for COVID-19 in UAE,” he wrote.
The world-renowned fashion designer’s notable clients include Lady Gaga, Britney Spears, Jennifer Lopez, Beyonce, Tyra Banks, Rihanna, and Christina Aguilera. He founded his own fashion line in Dubai in 2003.
Michael Cinco shared in his post that the initiative was part of the Dubai Health Ministry and Arab Fashion Council’s project called “A Thread for a Cause.” Their initiative calls for the fashion designers in the UAE to help in producing PPE for frontliners.
“This is our own small way of serving the Dubai community and giving back gratitude to the UAE government,” he added.
