Sara Duterte Vents Frustration Over Quarantine Violations

Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte is the daughter of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte. She’s also admired by lots of people like her father.
Amid the 2019 novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, she decided to give away 10,000 Jollibee Chickenjoy to clusters with lowest COVID-19 cases. She also donated her 1-year salary to a trust fund to help the health workers at Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC).
Sara Duterte has been very active in helping her community fight the COVID-19 crisis. She said their city government team up with the University of the Philipines to set up coronavirus testing center.
Recently, Sara Duterte vented out her frustration over quarantine violators on Tuesday, May 19. Based on a report from Philstar, she warned the people who violate the quarantine rules to prepare their last will and 2 million pesos to pay for their medical expenses in case they contracted COVID-19.
The 41-year-old politician issued the statement after learning that some residents failed to comply with the social distancing rules in malls. It was just the second day after the government placed the country under “general community quarantine” (GCQ).
According to the report, Sara felt dismayed after hearing reports that that most of the residents in Davao City forget the physical distancing rules. She warned that their government will not shoulder their hospital bills.
Although they have lifted the ECQ, residents are limited to buy essential goods such as medicine and food, reporting to work, and going to the doctor.
