Update on the Philippine Coronavirus Cases Amid Global Pandemic

PHILIPPINE CORONAVIRUS CASES – The total cases of COVID-19 in the Philippines increased by 214 today, May 16.

Philippines is one of the countries that are implementing measures now to curb the spread of COVID-19, a coronavirus that was first recorded in China and is a global pandemic now.

The impacts of coronavirus are far beyond what was expected of this disease. Aside from the fact that no vaccine against it yet was discovered, it has very tricky characteristics.

COVID-19 is characterized by flu-like symptoms – fever, cough, and breathing difficulties. However, a person who is positive for this disease may also be asymptomatic.

Philippine Coronavirus Cases

In PH, to curb the spread of coronavirus, community quarantines are implemented. In areas high-risk for the disease, the Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine is imposed starting today.

In other areas in the country, the General Community Quarantine is ongoing now. Everyone is advised to stay at home if not for essential purposes.

With regards to the Philippine coronavirus cases, it increased by 214 today, May 16, according to the Department of Health (DOH) bringing the total to 12,305. The health department recorded 11 new deaths bringing the total to 817.

Furthermore, the health department recorded 101 new recoveries today. The total recoveries from coronavirus in PH is at 2,561 now.
