Woman in Spain Who Got Infected w/ COVID-19 at 113 Years Old Recovers
WOMAN IN SPAIN – A 113-year-old female who is believed to be Spain’s oldest COVID-19 patient recovered from the disease.
The world is currently battling against coronavirus or COVID-19. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), it is going to be a long-term battle against the said pandemic.
Currently, more than 200 countries have confirmed cases of coronavirus. More than four (4) million cases of the disease were recorded across the globe.
United States has the most coronavirus cases at over 1.4 million now. Next to U.S. is Spain. According to Worldometer, Spain has recorded more than 269,000 cases of the disease.
The senior citizens are known to be more susceptible to the virus. Many really did not make it in the battle against this disease. While there are those who died, there are also those who have recovered from the disease.
Under God’s grace, a 113-year-old woman in Spain recovered from COVID-19. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the said patient is Maria Branyas who stays at a retirement home, the Santa Maria del Tura Care Home in Olot.
Maria has three (3) children. Based on the report, the woman in Spain was isolated while she was treated for COVID-19 and only one (1) person in full protective gear is allowed to see and assist her.
The spokesperson confirmed to AFP that she has recovered from the disease now. Based on the report, she had mild symptoms and she already tested negative for coronavirus.
Maria was born on March 4, 1907 in San Francisco. Her father is a journalist from northern Spain. They are among those who moved to Spain during the first World War and has also survived the Spanish flu pandemic which resulted to a lot of deaths.
