Duterte Offers P2 Million Reward for Capturing the Communist Leaders
President Rodrigo Duterte offers a P2 million reward for those who may capture and kill the commanders of the New People’s Army (NPA).
In a COVID-19 briefing on Tuesday, President Rodrigo Duterte said he will give P2 million rewards for each individual who could kill or determine the hiding place of the New People’s (NPA) top commanders.
“Kapag nakapatay kayo ng commander, nakaturo kayo [kung] saan natutulog iyong commander, sabihin niyo sa akin. P2 million [ang reward] ‘pag top commander,” Duterte said in a meeting with Cabinet members to discuss the government response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The President also said that the persons who pinpoint the commanders’ location would be treated as witnesses and will be given government protection.
“Pag nakapatay kayo ng commander o nakapagturo kayo saan natutulog ‘yung commander o nakitulog, sabihin lang ninyo sa akin at P2 million. Basta ‘yung top commander,” he said.
While the killers of the communist leaders will be given land and new identity to protected them, Duterte promised.
“Alisin kita sa lugar mo. Kung taga Abra ka, ihatid kita sa Mindanao. Sa mga Ilocano, bigyan kita ng lupa. Kasi kung hindi, papatayin ka talaga,” Duterte said.
“You will have a new identity, like you are under the Witness Protection Program (WPP). It need not be under the WPP, but I will order that you will be treated [as someone] under WPP,” Duterte added.
