Cavite Province To Be Under GCQ Starting may 16, Governor Jonvic Remulla Says

CAVITE – Governor Jonvic Remulla announced that the province will be under a General Community Quarantine (GCQ) starting May 16, 2020.

Currently, several provinces and cities in the Philippines are under an Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ). These areas are considered as high-risk for COVID-19.

President Rodrigo Roa Duterte accepted the recommendation of the National Inter-Agency Task Force against COVID-19. The low and medium risk areas are now under a General Community Quarantine.

The ECQ and the GCQ measures are set to expire this May 15. The public awaits the announcement from the national government on whether the measure would be extended, lifted, or modified in their respective areas.

Recently, Cavite Governor Jonvic Remulla made an announcement regarding the measure in the province against COVID-19. Through a Facebook post, the Governor announced that they will be observing a General Community Quarantine (GCQ) starting May 16.

The announcement of Gov. Remulla came ahead of the Palace’s announcement regarding the matter. In his post, the Governor also stated some of the guidelines under the GCQ implementation in the province.

Malls may open but there are limits as to the operation. Only take-out services are allowed in restaurants. Factories are allowed to open under the GCQ.

According to the Governor, the wearing of face mask will still be observed and as well as the use of quarantine passes except for those who are working. The curfew in the province remains except for those who work between 8:00 pm to 5:00 am.

Bars are still not allowed to operate under the GCQ. Based on the post, there are still no further details with regards to the guidelines in traveling.
