ABS-CBN Franchise Issue: Toni, Alex Called “Ipokrita,” “Enabler,” & “Plastic” Despite Support

Gonzaga sisters support amid ABS-CBN franchise issue lambasted.

ABS-CBN FRANCHISE ISSUE – Alex and Toni Gonzaga lambasted amid issues of ABS-CBN franchise despite the support they are showing.

The National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) last May 5 has issued cease and desist order (CDO) versus ABS-CBN network which ultimately made the biggest media company in the Philippines sign off that day as well. This broke many hearts of the viewers.

For 65 years, the Kapamilya network has become a part of everyone’s lives and their educational shows have molded the characters of many children. Based on a previous article, ABS-CBN head of news Ging Reyes shared that the network is losing Php 35 million daily with their broadcast services not airing.

As many people and Kapamilya celebrities expressed their sadness over the signing off of the network including several Kapuso stars, the Gonzaga sisters, Alex and Toni, was lambasted despite the support they have shown. People called them “ipokrita,” “enabler,” and “plastic” as they have recalled these two celebrities attending a dinner in Malacanang.

The Gonzaga sisters were disheartened and broken over the signing off of the network. But previously, it has become controversial when they got invited and attended a private dinner in Malacanang with President Duterte. It was also recalled that Toni’s husband, film and commercial director Paul Soriano was there.

The Malacanang private dinner was held last year which was attended by other famous celebrities such as Robin Padilla, Richard Gomez, Ai-Ai delas Alas, John Lloyd Cruz, Cesar Montano, Phillip Salvador, Ruffa Gutierrez, Aiko Melendez, Vhong Navarro, and many more.
