Here’s Nora Aunor statement about ABS-CBN shut down.
NORA AUNOR STATEMENT – Philippines’ Superstar Nora Aunor has this statement regarding the shut down of her former network ABS-CBN.
Superstar and veteran actress Nora Aunor was asked about the sudden shut down of ABS-CBN in compliance to the cease and desist order (CDO) from the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC). It broke many hearts knowing that thousands of people from that big company are going to lose their job in this time of pandemic.
Also, the media company provides essential information regarding all the current events in the country which is a vital role especially amid coronavirus crisis. Prior, the NTC assured the network they will be provided of provisional permits to operate despite expiration but went flip-flop following warning from Solicitor General Jose Calida.
And now, the Superstar reacted and was disheartened because it happened in the middle of this tough time. She said, “Alam kong maraming mga empleyado ng kumpanya na mawawalan ng trabaho at kawawa ang kanilang mga pamilya na umaasa lamang sa network. At sana hindi ito nangyari sa panahong dumadaan tayo sa krisis dulot ng COVID-19.”
Moreover, based on a report from PUSH, she is in high hopes that her former will get through this big challenge. She is is hoping that everyone will have their work again coming their talents to other employees.
Meanwhile, in a previous report, Albay 2nd district Rep. Joey Salceda believed that the shut down of the network will lead to more coronavirus infections as they basically lost their source of entertainment amid the lockdown.
