After Shutdown, Netizens Poke Fun At ABS-CBN Star’s Photoshoot
ABS-CBN – After the NTC ordered Kapamilya network to shut down, netizens poked fun at its talents.
On Tuesday, May 5, the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) issued a cease and desist order to ABS-CBN. The media network’s loyal viewers and talents were shocked by the news.
Last night, a video of a man destroying his tv, and ranting about the media network’s closure went viral on social media. He is just one of the million people who felt saddened by the news.
Actors Coco Martin, Angel Locsin, and Judy Ann Santos took to their social media accounts to express their reaction about the sudden closure of their company. They were dismayed by the government’s decision to halt the network’s operation amid the coronavirus crisis.
In a report, Rep. Jose Salceda said the closure of the media network would lead to more COVID-19 infections. The lawmaker said NTC took the Pinoy’s primary source of information.
There are also lots of Filipinos who don’t care much about ABS-CBN’s shutdown. Recently, a Facebook user named Link Sunbeh compiled the Kapamilya star’s photoshoot before the shutdown. In the caption, he said he noticed that lots of netizens poked fun to the artists’ pictorial.
“Hoy ang lungkot kong nagtitingin ng pictorial ng kapamilya tapos pagcheck ko sa comments di ko alam kung matatawa ba ako o mababadtrip. Mga pinoy talaga,” he wrote.
Netizens poked fun at Ivana Alawi, Yeng Constantino, Edward Barber, Janella Salvador, Dominic Ochoa, and Jane De Leon. A netizen said Ivana’s upcoming teleserye titled ‘Lihim Ni Ligaya’ will forever remain a secret because ABS-CBN has shutdown.
