DOH finally issues COVID-19 update today in Philippines, May 4, 2020.
PHILIPPINES – The Department of Health (DOH) finally issues the COVID-19 update today, May 4, 2020, in Philippines, Monday.
Globally, the total confirmed cases of coronavirus disease is now at 3,559,378, 247,981 fatalities, and 1,152,735 recovered COVID-19 patients. This disease was first recorded in Wuhan and it is now everywhere in the world.
Total lockdown have been declared in many places. And in Philippines, areas with high risk to spread coronavirus was put under enhanced community quarantine while those which are identified at moderate or low risk enforced general community quarantine.
Out of more than 3.5 million infected patients in the world, over 1.1 million of it were recorded in the United States, the country with the most cases now, then Spain at over 247,000 cases and Italy with 210,717 cases. The lockdowns and community quarantines implemented has affected so much coming from work to educational system of a country.
Authorities have also introduced the “new normal” to the people which is composed of the imposition of public health safety such as wearing mask, disinfection, hand washing, no mass gathering, and social distancing.
And now, as of today, 4 P.M. of May 4, the Department of Health (DOH) issued an update about coronavirus-related figures in the Philippines. And additional of 262 new confirmed coronavirus patients have been recorded along with 16 new deaths and 101 new recoveries, on the other hand.
With the new figures added, this gives us a total number of the following as per DOH:
- CONFIRMED CASES – 9,485
- DEATHS – 623
- RECOVERIES – 1,315
