Finalized list of approved businesses and services to re-open under enhanced and general community quarantine this May 1.

COMMUNITY QUARANTINE – Here are the approved business and services allowed to operate again starting May 1, under ECQ or GCQ.

President Rodrigo Duterte has approved new rules that will allow more businesses and services to operate again starting May 1. However, this is depending on the location as some areas are under GCQ while some are under ECQ.

Here are the areas under extended ECQ until May 15 starting from May 1, Friday:

  • Metro Manila
  • Central Luzon, except for Aurora
  • Calabarzon
  • Pangasinan
  • Benguet, including Baguio City
  • Iloilo, including Iloilo City
  • Cebu, including Cebu City
  • Bacolod City
  • Davao City

The rest and the other provinces will enforce GCQ which is tagged by the authorities as the “new normal” in this time of crisis brought about by the coronavirus disease. Under ECQ, strict rules for people to stay at home will still be implemented, mass transportation is still suspended, and non-essential businesses will remain close.

People will only be allowed to go out if they are to buy essential goods such as foods, banking, and medical needs. The final guidelines of both types of community quarantine have been released but rules were tweaked so as more businesses and services will operate again.

With this, here are the various sectors allowed to open again starting May 1, Friday under ECQ and GCQ:
