Lea Salonga Joins Huge Online Concert, Tribute to Stephen Sondheim

Broadway Diva Lea Salonga joins big international artists in a huge online concert.

LEA SALONGA – Philippine singer Lea Salonga joins a huge online concert to celebrate musical legend Stephen Sondheim’s 90th birthday.

Lin-Manuel Miranda, Meryl Streep, Neil Patrick Harris, Kristin Chenoweth, Josh Groban, Aaron Tveit, and Jake Gyllenhaal among many others are the likes that our very own Lea Salonga will be joining in an online concert. This is a tribute for the musical legend Stephen Sondheim on his 90th birthday.

Also, this concert is aimed to raise fund for an organization called Artists Striving to End Poverty, which is in pure dedication to the transformation of “the lives of youth using the most powerful tool they had: their art.” Salonga, according to ABS-CBN performed “Loving You” which is from Sondheim’s musical “Passion”.

This, she followed a message for the musical legend by wishing him first a happy 90th birthday. She then added based on the report, “In this crisis, all of us are turning to the arts for comfort and solace and sanity so I feel that it’s important to expose children to the arts. Whether or not they end up as artists as adults, it is something that will only serve to enrich, enhance and fill their lives.”
