Vice Pres. Sara Duterte Speaks on Security Detail amid the Issues
SARA DUTERTE – The Vice President expressed her plan to hire a private security if the AFP will pull out her entire security detail.
Among the countless politicians in the Philippines now, Vice Pres. Duterte is undeniably the most controversial now. Apart from the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) summon, impeachment complaints have been filed against the Vice President as well.

Two (2) impeachment complaints were filed against Duterte amid the questions on the spending of the Office of the Vice President (OVP) budget as well as the funds of the Department of Education (DepEd) during her term.
The Filipino populace has also witnessed the souring relationship between Vice Pres. Sara Duterte and Pres. Bongbong Marcos. Amid her tirades against the Marcoses, the Vice President claimed that there is also allegedly a threat to her life.

Recently, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte revealed her plan to hire a private security. Based on a report on Inquirer, it is the option of the Vice President in case her entire security detail will be pulled out by the Armed Forces of the Philippines.

According to the Vice President, her security detail may be reduced or pulled out soon and she has sent a letter to AFP chief General Romeo Brawner Jr. regarding her request. The Vice President revealed that she has told Brawner that she will not accept replacements.
“First of all, I told [Brawner] that I will not accept replacements to my old security personnel and just leave whoever will be left with me,” the Vice President said.
Vice Pres. Sara Duterte then confirmed their plan to seek security arrangements outside the Armed Forces of the Philippines in case the AFP will pull out all her security detail. However, she denied that it will be tantamount to having her own army as only “professional security services” will be considered.
Based on the report, Vice Pres. Duterte admitted that she does not feel secure. According to her, her husband, Attorney Manases Carpio, can arrange the private security for her and the fund for it should not be a problem.
“I do not feel secure. As I said, there’s always been bias,” she expressed.
Recently, following her absence at the NBI hearing, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte stressed that she will not hide or leave the Philippines if an arrest warrant will be released against her.
