Martin Nievera is proud of Sofronio Vasquez
Concert King Martin Nievera revealed what The Voice USA coach Michael Buble asked Pinoy singer Sofronio Vasquez during the blind auditions.
Martin is one of the most respected singers in the Philippine music industry. With his experience and success as a singer, he has become a mentor to younger artists.
In a recent interview, the seasoned singer was asked to react to Sofronio’s successful stint in The Voice USA Season 26 under the mentorship of Michael Buble.

Martin Nievera said that he is proud of Sofronio because this goes to show that Filipinos are now being recognized in other parts of the world whether it is in the field of music, sports, and even beauty, and this is something that should bring happiness.
The Concert King also shared that he and Sofronio have been texting each other. “Sofronio and I have been texting each other during this semifinals, not just because I believe in his talent, not just because I believe in his cause, to be able to make it in this world today, you need more than just a good song and great voice, you need to have a calling and a purpose, and his purpose was to make his country proud,” Martin shared.
He also shared that it has been his battlecry ever since he started in the industry to stand in the world and finally, Sofronio was able to make it.

Martin also shared that Michael is his “kumpara.” He said that Sofronio had been updating him during the competition about what Michael was saying to him.
During the blind audition, Sofronio had a four-chair turner. When Michael learned that he was from the Philippines, Martin shared what his “kumpare” said to the Pinoy contestant.
“No one knows that when his chair turned, the first thing he said, you’re Filipino, do you know Martin Nievera? Of course they edited it out because no one there knows who Martin Nievera is,” Martin Nievera shared.
The Concert King also said that he was sure that Michael Buble gave all the great advice to Sofronio and told him to save a dream for himself.
