Encounter Between Military & Suspected NPA Members Sparks in Negros Occidental
MILITARY – Members of the 79th Scout Platoon and Philippine Army are currently in an encounter against suspected members of NPA in Negros Occidental.
Unfortunately, amid the national health crisis that the Philippines is suffering from now due to COVID-19 outbreak, there are still encounters happening everywhere.
The New People’s Army or more commonly called as the NPA is one of those mentioned by President Rodrigo Roa Duterte in his recent national address. The Chief Executive spoke regarding the fate of the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) in Luzon.
Pres. Duterte told the NPA not to get the help that the government is giving to the people. He assured to help them if they will reach out to the state.
However, while the national address was ongoing, an encounter involving suspected members of the NPA in Negros Occidental was also ongoing. The military had an encounter with them in Manapla.
Based on a report of SunStar Bacolod, the encounter between the 79th Scout Platoon and Philippine Army members with the suspected members of the NPA is currently ongoing at Hacienda Domingo, Barangay San Pablo in the town of Manapla. More updates may be posted soon.
