Update of DOH Regarding COVID-19 in the Philippines
DOH – The Department of Health issued an update regarding the COVID-19 cases in the Philippines today, April 24, 2020.
Philippines is one of the over 200 nations with confirmed cases of coronavirus. It prompted the national government to place the entire Luzon under an Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ).
Most COVID-19 cases in the country were recorded in Luzon. To prevent the spread of the disease, provinces in Visayas and Mindanao also implement the ECQ.
Limiting the movements of the people is one of the essential ways practiced in most countries with coronavirus cases to prevent the spread of the infection. The people are advised to stay at home.
According to the Department of Health, the COVID-19 cases in the country may continue to increase. It is because more and more patients under investigation and persons under monitoring are tested.
Daily, the DOH releases an update regarding the COVID-19 cases in the Philippines. For today, April 24, 2020, the health department reported 211 new cases of coronavirus. There is now a total of 7,192 cases of the disease confirmed in the country.
The death toll is now at 477 after the health department recorded 15 new deaths due to coronavirus. On the positive side, 40 new recoveries were recoveries bringing the total recoveries to 762.
Luzon and most parts of Visayas and Mindanao are still under an ECQ now. It will expire in some areas this April 30 but the ECQ will be extended in the high-risk areas in the country.
