Manny Pacquiao In Favor of Extending ECQ in Luzon
MANNY PACQUIAO – Fighting senator Manny Pacquiao said he is in favor of extending the “enhanced community quarantine” in Luzon.
On April 7, President Rodrigo Roa Duterte decided to extend the “enhanced community quarantine” in Luzon due to the rising number of 2019 novel coronavirus (COVID-19) infected patients in the country. In a previous article, the chief executive said he will only lift the ECQ if the treatment for the disease is already available in the market.
Recently, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said Duterte was unsure of lifting the ECQ but he wanted to make a decision this week so that the people could prepare. “Ang sabi niya nais na niyang mag desisyon itong linggong ito dahil kinakailangan paghandaan ang kanyang desisyon,” he said.
Based on a report from TNT Abante, Senator Manny Pacquiao said he understands that the president is currently stuck in making a difficult decision. He said if he lifts the lockdown, there’s a possibility that they will be exposed to the virus and if he extends the lockdown, poor families will also starve to death. He asked the public to help the president fight the disease by obeying his orders.
Sumunod po tayong lahat,” he added.
According to the report, Sen. Manny Pacquiao said he is in favor of extending the ECQ in Luzon and only lift the lockdown until the health officials finish conducting mass testing.
Based on the report, Manny Pacquiao said the lockdown has positive effects and it certainly helped stop the spread of the virus. He asked the rich people in the country to be sensitive amid the COVID-19 crisis.
