MAN – A poor Filipino man was spotted trying to catch fish in a dirty river just to feed his family.

The Philippines is currently under “enhanced community quarantine” due to the 2019 novel coronavirus. The government took drastic measures to curb the spread of the deadly virus.

President Rodrigo Roa Duterte previously announced that the government has released P200 billion for the families who are greatly affected by the COVID-19 crisis. The daily wage earners now rely on the government’s funds for their basic needs.

Sadly, the P200 billion is not enough. In a report, Malacañang Palace announced that they are considering the auction of Imelda Marcos’ jewels. The former first lady’s “Hawaiian Collection” is worth P700 million.

Meanwhile, some Filipinos are looking for a way to feed their family amid the crisis. They chose not to depend on the government’s financial aid and decided to stand on their own feet to survive.
