DOH Releases Daily Update on Philippine Coronavirus Cases Amid Disease Outbreak in the Country
PHILIPPINE CORONAVIRUS CASES – The Department of Health (DOH) said that the total cases of COVID-19 confirmed in the country increased by 218 today, April 17, 2020.
The Philippines is one of the countries fighting against COVID-19 now. This pandemic has urged several nations to lock down their borders in an attempt to control the spread of coronavirus and prevent things from getting worst.
In PH, President Rodrigo Roa Duterte placed the entire Luzon under an Enhanced Community Quarantine. Under the ECQ, people cannot freely cross borders unless for very essential purposes.
Also, most cities in the Philippines now not only in Luzon are implementing the use of quarantine passes. Only one (1) member of the house is allowed to go out and buy the necessities.
For several weeks now, the Philippine coronavirus cases are increasing. According to DOH, it may continue to increase as more testings are done. The health department is providing a daily update on the cases.
For today, April 17, 2020, the DOH reported that 218 new cases of COVID-19 were recorded. The total Philippine coronavirus cases now is at 5,878.
According to the health department, 25 new deaths were recorded bringing the death toll to 387. With regards to the total recoveries, it is now at 487 after 52 new patients recovered.
