CORONAVIRUS TESTING CENTERS – Here are 16 certified Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) testing laboratories in the Philippines.
The confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the Philippines are unstoppably growing. These coronavirus-related figures are becoming alarming that in the country, we have already passed the 5,000-mark and globally, more than two million cases have been recorded.
Around the world, authorities and leaders have different approaches in addressing this health crisis. And in Philippines, President Duterte sees that ultimately forcing people to stay at home by declaring enhanced community quarantine is one major way to prevent the spread of the virus.
With this, as of April 14, we already have 16 certified testing centers for coronavirus cases and more laboratories are accordingly being develop to handle tests.
The following are the certified COVID testing labs in the Philippines and their daily estimated testing capacities:
- Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM), Muntinlupa City – 900 tests
- San Lazaro Hospital, Manila – 60-100 tests
- Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center, Baguio City – 150 tests
- Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center, Cebu City – 240 tests
- Southern Philippines Medical Center, Davao City – 100 tests
- University of the Philippines (UP) National Institutes of Health, Manila – 80 tests
- Lung Center of the Philippines, Quezon City – 100 tests
- Western Visayas Medical Center, Iloilo City – 80 tests
- Bicol Public Health Laboratory, Legazpi City, Albay
- St Luke’s Medical Center, Quezon City
- Victoriano Luna Hospital, Quezon City
- The Medical City, Pasig City
- Makati Medical Center, Makati City
- Detoxicare Molecular Diagnostics Laboratory, Mandaluyong City
- St Luke’s Medical Center, Taguig City
- Philippine Red Cross, Mandaluyong City
