Donation was given to QC hospital
QC Hospital – After Kapuso broadcast journalist Arnold Clavio exposed the “piling up” of bodies at the morgue of East Avenue Medical Center, it has received a mortuary freezer donation.
Last April 11, the post of Clavio went viral as he exposed the messages from frontliners working at the EAMC. This received various reactions from the online community. Some netizens slammed the journalist while some commended his bravery to reveal the situation in the said hospital in Quezon City.
Despite the criticisms, he remained steadfast on what he exposed. In one of his recent IG post, the broadcaster said that his credibility is not the important thing in his mind in this issue.
However, QC Mayor Joy Belmonte denied the allegations by saying it was “fake news” and this received a reaction from the Kapuso journalist.
On the other hand, Dr. Dennis Ordoña, the spokesperson of EAMC confirmed that corpses piled up in their morgue because of the lack of freezer. Meanwhile, he denied Clavio’s claims that they were told to stop counting the COVID-related deaths. The Department of Health (DOH) also denied that is has ordered EAMC to do this.
After that revelation, the QC hospital received mortuary freezer donation from Rosita Soliman Foundation Inc. RSF’s founder Jo Soliman stated:
Hearing the call melts and at the same time saddens our hearts… we had to leave home for a while to get busy to help others who need it badly… we didn’t want to break this news but we have to, for other to realize how lucky we all are…
It is without hesitation that We, Rosita Soliman Foundation Inc., answer the call of our government for help amid this global pandemic.
Today we have mobilized and turn over One 40-ft Refrigerated Container Van that can serve as temporary freezer (the most decent we could find and provide, wala na pong space sa morgue) for East Avenue Medical Center in QC.
