Calamba Residents Failed To Follow Physical Distancing Rules

CALAMBA – The residents in Calamba, Laguna ignored the ‘physical distancing’ rules during relief operation.

Health experts advise the public to practice ‘social distancing‘ or physical distancing to reduce the transmission of the 2019 novel coronavirus (COVID-19). The deadly virus first emerged in Wuhan City, China. Now, it has infected over 1 million people worldwide.

The Philippine government has taken strict measures to halt the spread of the virus. However, the livelihood of the daily wage earners is affected by the quarantine.

Celebrities like Bela Padilla and Maine Mendoza have reached out to the families affected by the coronavirus crisis. They have raised a huge amount for them.

Private companies and individuals have also stepped up during the pandemic. Recently, the residents in Calamba failed to follow the ‘physical distancing’ measures during the distribution of relief goods in a local cemetery.

Based on a report from GMA News, the relief goods are for the families living in the cemetery. It can be seen in the video that the people forgot the physical distancing practice during the relief operation.

More residents arrive at the cemetery after they heard that someone was distributing relief goods in the area. According to the report, the Barangay officials said they were not behind the relief efforts.
