DFA Confirms Philippine Ambassador to Lebanon’s Death Due to COVID-19
Philippine Ambassador to Lebanon Bernardita Catalla died due to COVID-19 according to Department of Foreign Affairs Secretary Teddy Boy Locsin.
PH is now on a tough fight to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the country. This pandemic has greatly affected several countries worldwide.
In the Philippines, there is now a total of 2,311 confirmed cases of coronavirus in the country according to the Department of Health (DOH). At least twelve (12) doctors have died in the country due to COVID-19.
The entire Luzon is now under an enhanced community quarantine due to the threats of COVID-19. President Rodrigo Roa Duterte declared a state of emergency in the whole Philippines.
Several provinces outside Luzon also implement an enhanced community quarantine to curb the spread of COVID-19. Everyone is advised to stay at home to prevent contracting or spreading the disease.
Recently, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) made a heartbreaking confirmation. Based on a post of Manila Bulletin, the DFA confirmed that Philippine Ambassador to Lebanon Bernardita Catalla died of COVID-19.
According to the post, Catalla died in a hospital in Beirut. Condolences to the family of the late ambassadress.
