Singer Joe Diffie Dies Due to Coronavirus Disease

The country singer Joe Diffie has passed away at the age of 61 after testing positive for coronavirus disease 2019.

On Sunday (March 29, 2020), the international singer Joe Diffie died due to coronavirus complications in Nashville, Tennessee after he tested positive of the virus last week. Scott Adkins, the singer’s publicist made the announcement.

Diffie becomes the first country artist to go public with the coronavirus disease. In a statement, the singer asked privacy for his family and he also urged the public to be more careful during this pandemic.

“My family and I are asking for privacy at this time. We want to remind the public and all my fans to be vigilant, cautious and careful during this pandemic,” the statement read.

The 61-year-old artist rose to fame because of his popular hit songs in the 1990s such as “Home,” “Pickup Man,” “Honky Tonk Attitude,” “Prop Me Up Beside the Jukebox (If I Die),” “Bigger Than the Beatles,” and “If the Devil Danced (In Empty Pockets),” which are chart-topping ballads.

The country artist left his wife Tara Terpening Diffie and his seven children from his four previous marriages.
