Resident Goes Viral For Saying Mask Can’t Prevent “Masamang Espiritu”

A resident has gone viral on social media after saying masks and alcohol can’t take away “masamang espiritu” instead of coronavirus.

Recently, President Duterte ordered to put Metro Manila under community quarantine due to the rising number of COVID-19 cases in the country. Everyone is also advised to stay at home for a month or so as much as possible.

Health authorities strictly recommend to use protective masks and always execute proper hygiene to prevent the infection of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). Always wear mask when going outside and while in the public places and use alcohol after unintentionally touched something.

Recently, a Facebook page named Huli shared an interview of 24 Oras reporter to one of the residents in Isla Pamarawan Malolos, Bulacan. In a report, fishermen of the island were not allowed to enter Malolos fish port to sell their products because of the threat of coronavirus.

Meanwhile, of the vendor was interviewed about the issue. She said on the  interview “Bakit kakailangin ng mask? Mask ba ang makakapagligtas sa mga tao?” [Why do I need mask? Can mask save people?]

“Kahit mag mask ka yung hangin, kahit mag alcohol ka hindi mamatay dyan ang mga masasamang espiritu,” she added. [Even if you wear mask, it’s in the air, even if you use alcohol the evil spirits do not die.]

Her answer on the interview has gone viral on social media as she wants to prevent the evil spirit instead of coronavirus. Netizens found it hilarious and bring good vibes to them, while others defend him for her mistakes.
