Only the driver of the motorcycle is allowed to pass through quarantine checkpoints, according to an article from Panay News.

Colonel Paul Kenneth Lucas, director of IPPO, said that the back riders would be ordered to get down the motorcycle.

Lucas said that the back rider and driver would not observe social distancing.

Social distancing refers to the increase of spacing between people which is being implemented under the quarantine as a means to prevent the COVID-19 spread.

Lucas cited the World Health Organization urging the public to observe social distancing since the virus is transmitted by droplets discharged via sneezing or coughing.

As per the report, Lucas said that the couriers must show a food pass issued by the to the Department of Agriculture (DA) director of the region to checkpoints.

He however said that there won’t be any stringent checking procedure to not delay the delivery of goods.

Despite this though, the IPPO said that they can still catch couriers with unauthorized passengers or sick people.
