Controversial politician Koko Pimentel says he is ready to face charges against him.
KOKO PIMENTEL – Philippine Senator Koko Pimentel broke his quarantine protocols and says he is ready to face the charges to be filed against him.
Senators Migz Zubiri and Sonny Angara tested positive for Coronavirus Disease 2019. Among them isĀ Senator Aquilino Pimentel III or also known as Koko Pimentel. Of the three of them, the latter was the one heavily criticized after he broke his quarantine protocols.
The senator got in contact with someone who is positive as well and he exhibited symptoms after several days. He underwent a swab test and this will immediately consider him as a person under investigation. However, despite of all these, he broke the protocols and accompanied his pregnant wife to Makati Medical Center where he exposed some hospital staff to coronavirus infection.
Accordingly, the senator received his results late night of March 24. But still, the fact remained that he broke the quarantine protocol being a PUI when he came out and went to a public place, a hospital for that matter. In a previous article, lawyers and law students are preparing now to file complaints against him.
With this, on Friday, the senator said he is ready to face the charges. He said according to a report from Manila Bulletin, “We are in an entirely new environment where everything is in a state of flux. I believe even the so-called protocols have changed over time. Everything will be clarified in due time.”
Lawyer Rico Quicho was already drafting possible criminal, civil, and administrative charges they can possibly file versus the controversial senator.
