Marikina City Sets Up Sanitation Tents Amid Coronavirus Pandemic

MARIKINA CITY – Netizens commended the officials in Marikina City for placing sanitation tents in one of their public markets amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Towns and cities have been using sanitation tents to boost protection against the 2019 novel coronavirus. The deadly virus from Wuhan City, China has spread across the globe and caused thousands of death.

The government has taken drastic measures to control the spread of COVID-19 disease. Officials have set up sanitation tents for the public to minimize transmission.

Marikina City decided to place sanitation tents in one of their markets to halt the spread of the virus. A Facebook user named Harley Serbal Timbol uploaded photos and videos of the tents in Marikina Marker in Santa Elena.

The officials aim to help the market-goers disinfect their bodies before and after entering the public market. In the caption, Timbol said the residents are now more assured that they would not get infected. Physical distancing is also implemented.

“Ang galing talaga ng marikina… After mo mamalengke pasok ka lang sa tent na to.. Para ma disinfect ang buong katawan mo,” she wrote.

Timbol’s post has garnered 6 thousand reactions, 373 comments and 9.8 thousand shares as of this writing. As of Thursday, the country has 707 confirmed COVID-19 cases with 45 death.
