President Duterte To Test Again & Undergo Self-Quarantine If Duque Tests Positive for Coronavirus
President Duterte would be advised to test for the virus again if the Health Secretary Francisco Duque III test positive for the COVID-19.
The Department of Health (DOH) Undersecretary Ma. Rosario Vergeire said that the president may undergo self-quarantine if Duque tests positive for the coronavirus because of their close contact over the past few days.
“Kung si Presidente po ay kailangan nating itest, tandaan po natin pag gumagawa po tayo ng contact tracing, meron po tayong initial contacts or the direct contacts of the case. Meron po tayong second layer contact, third layer contacts and so on and so forth,” Vergeire said.
Currently, Duque is under self-quarantine after a senior official of the Health Department tested positive for the virus. The Health Secretary is okay and doing his work at home while waiting for coronavirus test results.
Earlier, President Duterte tested negative for coronavirus proving that he is healthy after his exposure with Duque during the previous days. Duque also told Mr. Duterte and the Cabinet Members to observe social distancing during their meetings.
