Amid Coronavirus Crisis, DOH Secretary Francisco Duque Undergoes Self-Quarantine

DOH SECRETARY FRANCISCO DUQUE – Department of Health Secretary Francisco Duque III is currently on a self-quarantine.

The Department of Health (DOH) is taking the lead along with the national government in this time of crisis in the Philippines. The country was hit by the 2019 novel coronavirus or COVID-19.

As shown by the situations in Italy and China, the disease, a new strain of coronavirus, can really make a worst impact on a nation. The PH authorities are now on maximum efforts to prevent the spread of the disease.

The Philippines is now under a state of calamity with the entire Luzon being under an enhanced community quarantine. The government and the health authorities are asking the cooperation of the public by staying at home.

Based on a report on GMA News, DOH Secretary Francisco Duque III underwent a coronavirus testing. He is also under a self-quarantine now despite being asymptomatic.

According to Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire, the Health Secretary is “asthmatic and hypertensive”. The result of his coronavirus testing will be out in two (2) to three (3) days.
