Update on Condition of DOH Secretary Duque Who’s Now On Self-Quarantine

DOH SECRETARY – Department of Health Secretary Francisco Duque III gave an update on his condition amid being on a self-quarantine.

The Department of Health (DOH) is one of the frontliners in the fight against the spread of COVID-19 in the Philippines. It is on maximum effort as the said epidemic can bring the worst situations.

In fact, the COVID-19 brought China and Italy to lockdown. The former has posed travel restrictions to the city of Wuhan where the disease was first recorded while the latter is under a total lockdown.

In the Philippines, there is currently a total of 217 confirmed cases of coronavirus in the country. Seventeen (17) people have died on the disease and eight (8) patients have reportedly recovered already.

There are several persons under monitoring (PUMs) and patients under investigation (PUIs) in the different areas in the country. Some of them had a contact with coronavirus patients.

One of those monitored following a contact with a coronavirus patients is DOH Secretary Francisco Duque III. He had a contact with one of the officials of the health department who tested positive for COVID-19.

Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, speaking to DZMM, DOH Secretary Duque gave an update about his condition while he is on self-quarantine now. The Health Secretary assured that he is “okay”.

According to Duque, he is just monitoring his asthma and his hypertension. Based on the report, he assured that he is not experiencing new symptoms.

The Health Secretary is being monitored by his wife who is also a doctor. His wife has cough and they are monitoring each other from afar.
